Are you looking for a way to keep in touch with old friends from the oil camps of Venezuela? The Creole Annuitants Association has invited those of us who were children of Creole employees in Venezuela to join under the umbrella of their organization. It is an opportunity to associate with friends from all the oil camps. If you are interested (please be interested), contact Sharon (Burke) Cox (sharonbcox@charter.net) to get on the list. There is an organization, Hijos y Hijas de Amuay, that tries to keep track of "kids" from Amuay and plans reunions. The keeper of the list is Tommy Jackson ( bradleyjackson@earthlink.net ). Please help us keep the list up to date by keeping Tommy advised of your current information. What he needs is:
If you would like a copy of the list, send Tommy a self addressed, stamped envelope (9" X 12" or larger). His mailing address is 7 Swindon Ct., Manchester, MO 63011. Another organization you may be interested in joining is the Venezuelan Oil Field Brats (VOB). This is a labor of love by Mark Suchon (MSuchon@aol.com). To find out more, visit the VOB Web site. View any of the yearbooks below by clicking on the cover. See Ian Ball's reporting of the teenage news in the summer of 1958 by clicking on the Pelican masthead below. This page is on my new Oil Camps of Venezuela site. This site includes several "thumbnail galleries". These are collections of small pictures. If you click on a "thumbnail" (small picture), you will go to a full-sized version of that picture. You must then click on your "back" button to return to the thumbnail gallery. So far this site includes the following:
